As the summer winds down to an end in the next few weeks, it's time to think ahead to fall and winter months. Contrary to popular belief, the fall and winter months are very busy months for selling homes. In fact, they are some of our busiest months for taking on new listings of homes for sale. Simply put, the real estate world does not come to a screeching halt just because it's not summer any more.
However, we do need to change our marketing approach once we hit those cold weather months. One critical mistake most Realtors and home sellers make is they do not plan ahead for listing homes for sale in the fall and winter.
It's critically important to understand that when marketing your home to potential buyers, you're not just highlighting the interior features like kitchens, baths and basements. But you're also highlighting the exterior features as well like decks and patios, pools and ponds, and even the simple landscaping like trees, shrubs and flowers.
Think about how beautiful these features outside your home look in the summer months. The winter months? Not so much. We encourage our home seller clients to let us come out and take the exterior photos while it's still nice out to ensure we have beautiful outdoor photos of your home to get buyers excited about it even when the weather isn't nice in the winter.
If you think there is a possibility you will sell your home in the next 6 months, reach out to us if you'd like to set an appointment for us to come out and photograph the outside of your home now.
